ROSANNA WINS THE OAKS.

The warm weather drew a.n unusually big crowd to Flemington for the 'third day's events of the V.R.C. Cup Carnival. Results: —
- November Hurdles, 400 soys; three miles.—Katingawa, 12.1, 1 ; Widden, 12.1, 2; Binnuin, 9.5, 3. Six started. Won by two'lengths, with three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, smin 513 sec.
Mimosa Stakes, 500 soys; six furlongs.—Heatherbrae, 7.12, 1 j Deneb, 7.12, 2; Kimegetis, 7.12, 3. Eight started. Won by three lengths. Time, lmin 15sec.
Linlithgow Stakes, 1000 soys; one mile.—Mr. J. Mills's br f Traquette, by Traquair—Simmerette, 8.9, 1; Cetigne, 8.0, 2; Blague, 9.0, 3. Also started: Panacre 8.0. The winner led throughout, and won by two lengths and a-half, with five lengths- between second and third. Time, lmin 39|sec.' ' ' Carnival Handicap, 500 soys'; one mile and a-quarter.—Jarwan, 7.9, 1 ; Flash of Steel, 8.6, 2; Hush Money, 8.8, 3. Seven others started. Won by three-quarters of a length, with a neck between second and third. Time, 2min 6|sec. The winner led nearly all the way. Oaks Stakes, 500 soys; ons mile and a-half. For three-year-old fillies B.lo.—Mr. J. V. Smith's eh f Rosanna, by Wallace—Ophir, 1 ; Mr. G. Barnett's eh f Rouen, by Kenilworth—Keepsake, 2; Mr. R. Crawford's br f Dame Quickly, by Bardolph—Carbelle, 3. Also started: Mnemonic andYlomedia. Rouen led to the 'turn, but Dame Quickly passed her at the entrance to the straight. At the distance the three placed horßes were on level terms. Rosanna finished one and a-half lengths in front of Rouen, w>h Dame Quickly two lengths further behind. Time, 2min 37^sec. Veteran Stakes, 400 soys ; one mile and a half.—Marculfus, 8.2, 1; St. Spasa. 8.11, 2; Cock o' the North, 7,1, 3. Six others started. Won by three lengths, with one .length and a quarter between second and third. Time, 2min 333 sec.
