BULGARIAN, COAST BLOCKADED The High Commissioner reports : — LONDON, 16th October, 7.40 p.m. A. blockade of the Bulgarian coast m the iEgean Sea was declared from 6 a.m. to-day. Forty-eight hours' grace has been allowed to neutral vessels in which to depart. [The iEgean coast-line of Bulgaria extends from a point north of the eastern side of Thasos Island to just west of Enos, a direct distance of about seventy-five miles. The only ports of any note are Dedeagatch and Port Lagos. The former has an open roadstead, where vessels have to anchor about a quarter of a mile from the shore. In rough weather from the south, the shipping has to put to sea Port Lagos is midway between Dedeagatch and the Greek port of Kavalla, and is on a well-sheltered bay (Karagatch Bay)—Dedeagatch alone has railway communication.] THREE FRENCH STEAMERS SUNK. PARIS, 16th October. The Yunnan (6470 tons), and two other French steamers, have been torpedoed in the iEgean Sea, without warning. Eight people were killed and five wounded on the Yunnan.
