INCESSANT BLOWS NECESSARY
SATISFACTION IN RUSSIA. PETROGRAD, 29th September. There is profound satisfaction at the commencement of the offensive in the west, but it is realised that incessant blows alone can shake the German defence to its foundations. Demonstrators cheered at the British, and French, Embassies. The Tsar telegraphed to President Poincare, congratulating him on the valiant armies' great success. M. Poincare replied that the magnificent valour of the Russians was the admiration of the world.
