BOHEMIA.
"The Future of Bohemia," by E. WSeton- Watson has a special interest at the present time. The Bohemians arc Czechs (a Slav race), and their history is a long struggle with the Germans. If they have their own way, the end of the war will not leave them nnder either Austrian or German dominance. "The heroic era of Bohemia," says Mr. Seton- Watson, "lies in the 14th and 15th centuries, first under a French dynasty, the Kings of the House of Luxembourg, and later under a national kinjr, elected from the ranks of her own nobility. The outstanding feature of this period, as of earlier and later periods of Bohemian history, is the perennial racial struggle between Czech and German. "It may be worth while pointing out that the Prince of Wales's plumes, so familiar to us as an emblem, were won upon the battlefield of Crecy from the blind King John of/B ohemia, after ht> had fallen in a. mad but gallant charge. John's son and successor, Charles, who was also Emperor, won for Bohemia a position of European importance.
