RUSSIANS AGAIN DEFEAT THE ENEMY MANY PRISONERS TAKEN THE ATTITUDE OF THE BALKANS i . ' OPTIMISTIC FEELING IN ITALY FIGHTING ON THE WESTERN FRONT
&t Tremboola, in \ Galicia, fifteen miles south' of Tarnopol, where the Russians defeated the enemy, early this i\veek, another victory has been gained by the Tsar's troops. Seven thousand prisoners were taken. On the roads .to Kovno the Russians are holding up great enemy forces. The Austrians claim to have captured the fortress of Dubno, breaking the Russians' front north of Olyka, which 'is twenty miles north of Dubno. In other places there has •been stubborn fighting. A surprise visit to Servia has been paid by a Bulgarian Minister, who has delivered a detailed answer to the Servian Note. On the western front there has been some fighting, in .which the Germans made slight gains. French airmen continue to do excellent work. Bulair, on Gailipoli Peninsula, is regarded by German and Turkish commanders as a critical point, and Turkish reiniorcements from the Caucasus haye, in consequence, been hurried thitherl
