GIFTS FOR THE BRAVE
EQUIPMENT OF CAMPS FOR CONVALESCENTS. Another gift of £500 has been accepted by the Hon. G. W. Russell for the provision of a camp for convalescent soldiers at Rotorua. The money was offered by Commissioner Hodder, on behalf of the SaJvation Army. Similar generosity is being witnessed in the South Island for the establishment of a camp at Hanmer. It is expected that the profits of a patriotic trotting meeting, promoted by the Canterbury Owners' and Breeders' Association, will amount .to £500 for that purpose. Mr. Russell" says he fully anticipates that the whole of the money and material needed to set up these camps will come from the voluntary contributions of organisations and individuals.
