(BT mBthAPH.—PRBSS ASSOCIATIOH ) AUCKLAND, This Day, Samoa has made a considerable contribution towards the New Zealand Hospital Ship Fund, a sum of over £350 having been collected and forwarded by the Tofua, which arrived at Auckland yesterday, A Carnival was hold in Apia on 10th July, a procession in the morning boing followed by a cricket 'match between teams representing the military and civil community. There was also native dancing and other sports. On the previous evening a .successful concert Organised by the garrison foi'ces was held. The sale of seats for the cttlevtainment by auction earlier in tho week contributed about £270 to tho -amount raised altogether.
