"THE ENEMY WAS EJECTED"

BERLIN'S OFFICIAL REPORT. THE STRUGGLE FOR AERIAL SUPREMACY. BERLIN, 27th June. Official.— "The hand-to-hand fighting north of SouchoZ, between Souchez and Neuville, for the positions which the French had captured, has concluded. The enemy was ejected. On Friday night he sent reinforcements, but they were repulsed. There was heavy fighting on the Meuse heights, west of Combres, with the French on a front of three kilometres, attacking in deep formation. Four times they attacked, and wherever they penetrated they were repulsed in hand-to-hand fighting with severe losses. The enemy still holds a piece of a trench captured on the 20th. Since the beginning of the Arras battle our airmen have been fighting for the supremacy of the air. Their losses have not been in vain. For some days we have been obviously getting the advantage."
