SEDDON MEMORIAL

THIS AFTERNOON'S CEREMONY.

In wet weather this afternoon at three o'clock, but ill the presence of & considerable number of people, the statue of the late Rt. Hon. R. J Seddon waa unveiled in the Parliamentary grounds by His Excellency the Governor, Lord Liverpool. Members of Parliament were present in large numbers, The National Anthem and "The Garland of Elowers" were played by the band, and speeches eulogistic of the late Premier were deliyered by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), His Excellency, The Prime Minister, and Sir Joseph Ward.
