' REMOVAL OF IMPORT DUTY 1 URGED. <By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright,) (Received June 25, 8.50 a.m.) , : SYDNEY, This Day. ; In the Assembly, Mr. Kearsley enquired whether the Minister was aware "'hat the shortage of meat was caused by £^j American Trust operating in Queenfibuying up numbers of cattle; and in view of New Zealand's excess would "the iYlinister consider the advisability of 'asking the Federal Government to re'inove the import duty on sheep. ; The Hon. G. Black (Chief Secretary) 'replied that the shortage was due to the .'drought causing a depletion of supplies *from Queensland, and the amount exsported for the troops. Perhaps it would *be .advisable to ask the Government to '.forego the duty. Communications had passed, but no definite solution 'had been reached.
