KARORI
♦ The annual meeting of the Karori Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last evening, there being an attendance of some thirty members. Mr. B. G. H. Burn (president) was in the chair. The President, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said the overdraft had been considerably reduced, and to Mi\ T. W. Lewer principally the thanks of the club were due. When discussing the financial position with Mr. Lewer, the latter had made an offer to hand over his £10 debenture if other members would do the same. He (Mr. Burn) volunteered to wait on those holding debentures and ask them to hand them over, and ho was pleased to say he had met witli a cordial reception, not receiving a single refusal. This result liad placed the club in a strong, healthy position. He had also canvassed members and had obtained donations amounting to £40. Now every member had a share in the club, and he was in hopes that the overdraft would soon be wiped off. Mr, Burn said that thanks was due to Mr. G. W. Brigham (the Karori Borough Council Engineer) for valuable assistance given. (Applause.) The election of officers resulted in the re-election of Mr. Burn as president, Mr. J. C. Fulton as vice-president, Mr. W. C. Cooper as secretary, Mr. H. Sunley as treasurer, Mr. C. I. Dasent as auditor, and the following committee : — Messrs. Robb, F. A. Dryden, H. Dryden, G. Crawford, A. Foster, W. G. Bradnock, T. Watchman, T. Campbell, and H. Roberts. The president and secretary were elected delegates to the centre. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers, and special mention was made of Mr. Cooper's work as secretary. Mr Burn then presented tlie following prizes won last season :— Senior bowls, Mr W. C Cooper ; junior bowls, Mr. Robb ; club pairs, Messrs. Harrison and Needbam ; Clmstmns Day tournament prizes, Messrs. Cooper and Malm. At the conclusion of the meeting members were entertained at supper by Mrs. B. G. H. Bun-
