V.M.C.A. FAREWELL
«* Mr. George Mackay, the genial and energetic chairman of the Strangers' Tea Committee at the V.M.C.A., who leaves for the Trentham Camp next week, waa farewelled yesterday afternoon. The Hon. J G. W Aitken gave an address to a large gathering on "Self-sacrifice and the War," especially referring to the men who were leaving all, and to parents who were letting them go, in their country's cause. Complimentary reference was made to Mr. Mackay's work by Mr. J. C. Pont and Mr J. Mowbray, and the president of the V.M.C.A., Mr. W Allan, made Mr. Mackay a presentation. At the same gathering Pte. J. R. Sclater was presented with a soldier's kodak.
