POLITICIAN AND METHODIST.
The Secretary of the United State* Navy is Mr. Josephus Daniels. He is a Methodist, and speaking to 200 ministers at a Methodist conference in Washington, he said :— " I regret that the Methodists haven't the vision to see that they must mobilise. They have not been able to take the ramparts of sin because of their divisions. Now, when I see in Seattle Southern Methodists building a church where they have no business to build, and when I see in Atlanta your church building where you have no business to build, I say it is wrong. Mothodwto should mobilise. What w« need is unity." Mr Daniels then , suggested that Methodists might add a little boldness to their methods. " The great need of this day is boldness — more boldness, and more boldness," he said. " I tell you the preacher who lacks boldness in holding up sin to his fellow men never wins the approval of the sinners. What the sinners like is being told they are sinners."
