MUSICAL UNION
The Musical Union has not yet Gna.Hr decided upoh tho dotes for its concerts this season, and tho committee hns now been given the duty of arranging a pro* gramme of performances. At tho annual meeting a few dnys ago Ihe question was discussed. It was suggested that, in view of Ihe conditions arising out of (he war v and the heavy demands upon the public for donations and other expenditure, it would be unwiae to hold any concerts as early as Juno or July A proposal was made by the secretary (Mr A. M. Lewis) that the union should hold a festival at, the end of Ihe year^ but it was nol adopted. In the meantime the union ip proceeding with its rehearsals for three concerts, which will consist of the following works:— First concert, two parts of Coleridge Taylor's "Hiawatha." and Stanford's "Last Post;" second concert, Sir Charles V. Stanford's "The Revongo" and Gaul's "Joan of Aro;?' 4hird concert. Mendelssohn's "St. PwiKM
