For the convenience of bona-fide con* cert parties going to the Trentham camp a special first-class carriage will be "attached to the train leaving the Lamb* ton Station at 6. 14 o'clock every Tuesday and Thursday evening. The Mayor and the Town Clerk have been authorised to sign orders which will enable members of the concert parties to obtain at the Lambton Station > tickets at second-class fares (Is 8d) entitling them to travel in the reserved carriage. The train will leave Trentham on the return journey at 10,10 p.m., and reach Lambton Station at 11.20 p.m. A resident of Wellington has brought under the notice ofc The Post a case in which a man, who volunteered for military sevvice, had been medically examined and. found to be in a perfectly fit condition, except that his height was two inches below the standard. The doctor, in his remarks (we are informed), Btated that the man was therefore unfit, but nevertheless the certificate of fitness for service was signed by him. Our in* formant pointed out that it seemed a great pity that such a healthy man should be unable to join the forces. By an Order in Council gazetted last night trawling in a portion of Hawkes Bay is prohibited.
