A CORRECTION
TO THE KBITOB. Sir, — In your issue of the 29th ult. there* ?ppears a reprinted article on the demise in Tasmania of a John Cole, late of H.M. 12th Regiment; and also stating that he was tho reoipient of the Now Zealand Cross. It enrely should be New Zealand Medal, quite a different decoration. The account also says that he served at Te Ngutu o te Manu. If so, then he could not have left New Zealand with his regiment. I shall not trespass On your space, suffice it to say that no person named John Cole was awarded the New Zealand Cross, nor the V.C. in New Zealand oither. — I am, etc., FAfTTA. NOM VERBA. New Plymouth, 10th May, 1915. [Search of the official records shows that our correspondent is correct in stating that no person named John Cole received the New Zealand Crocs.]
