(IT TBLBORAPH— PRBSB ASSOCIATION.) WAIMATE, 26th May. Laet evening the Boroxigh /Council granted the Mayor (Mr. Norton Francis) two months' leave of absence, to take effect immediately. The Mayor stated ho* h"ad been asked by the Defence Department to go to Samoa. He had tried to get them to find a substitute, as he disliked leaving the position so coon after his election, but so far no one had been found, and ho had to go.
