GISBORNE'S GENEROSITY

(IT MLEORAPH— PRBSS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, 26th May. Last week the Gisborne Defence Committee sent £500 to His Excellency's Hospital Ship Fund, and to-day the committee received from members of the Poverty' Bay Club £1600 for the same purpose. The club's effort % is not yet complete, and it is anticipated that the sum ultimately contributed will be much larger. In Gisborne on Monday' £600 was collected for the fund, making a total of £3100 already sent from this district for the hospital ship. The Poverty Bay Club has already contributed £3500 for various patriotic funds.
