MARRIED SOLDIERS

INCREASE IN PAY OF SHILLING A DAY. The Government has decided to pay married privates and n.c.o.'s of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces a separation allowance of Is per day for seven days in the week. This extra Is per day is to be payable. to the wives of the n.c.o's and privates of the Main Expeditionary Force and all subsequent reinforcements. Payment will commence from the Ist June, 1915, for those al* ready in the Forces on that date, and from the date of the enlistment for others. This means that the payment of married men in the rank and file will receive 6s a day instead of 5s as previously.
