WAITANGI. The secretary of Waitangi Consolidated reports that during the past week No. 2 rise has been advanced a further height of 4ffc, making a total height of 95ft from starting point. Rising was delayed during the week putting in timber, ladders, etc. Driving east in No. 3 level a further distance of Bft was driven, making a total distance of 13ft from the' crosscut. The reef shows favourable minerals. No. 2 level — The winze has been sunk a further depth of 6ft, making a total of 31ft from the drive. The contractors in the battery are progressing very well, and are now getting the machinery into position.
Trooper Herbert Morley stumbled on the Trentham paradp ground this morning and fractured his left leg. He was removed to the Hospital. The term holidays (three • week*) at I Wellington Girls' College began to-day.
