RHODES ESTATE
Confidence in future values of Wellington City properties, notwithstanding the pressure of the war upon finance, is plainly shown by the absoi-ption of nearly £48.000 worth of the Rhodes property by local investors. Yesterday another property in the Rhodes estate was disposed of by the joint auctioneers, Messrs. Bethune, Harcourt. Turnbull, and Nathan, namely, the family residence standing in the grounds, comprising two sections, one with a frontage of 66ft to Fitzherbertterrace, by a depth of 200 ft. and the other with 66ft frontage to Murphystreet, by a depth of 214 ft and with a. total area of 2 roods 24 perches. The purchaser is the tenant, Mr. Harold Beauchamp. of Messrs. W. M. Bannatyne and Co., and the price fixed waa £5750. the figure at which it was passed in at the auction sale. The sale of the properties has now reached a total of £47.800.
