WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND
TO-MORROW'S ENTERTAINMENT. As far aa the arrangements are concerned, the carnival in aid of the Wounded New Zealand Soldiers' Fuhd, to be held to-morrow and on Monday, promises to be a great success. Only the good will of Messrs. J. Pluvius, R. Boreas and Co. is needed to make, the promise a certainty. The procession in fancy costume through the city to the Athletic Park should ensure a .large gathering of people ih more sober attire j and it is generally reported that the troops at Trentham have been granted leave for the afternoon and will come to town on a route march, dismissing At the Park, in time to see the TrenthamWellington football match. On Monday evening a programme of boxing matches will be gone through at the Town Hall. Followers of football will.be interested in certain changes that have had to be made in the Wellington representative team. Prendeville (who will bo remembered as a prominent member of the Poneke Club some seasons ago, since which he has shown excellent form in Sydney) will play full-back. MacEwan, of Petone, replaces Heley, wing-three-quarter, who is suffering from an attack of pleurisy, whilo Morns goes from half to three-quarter in E. Ryan's place, C. Pile, late of Dunedin Pirates, arid now of Oriental, taking Morris's place at half. The Trentham team is not changed.
