SEAMAN DROWNED
WESTMEATH IN THE STORM. A wireless message was received this afternoon from the liner Westmeath by the local agents (the New Zealand and African Steamship Company), stating that the vessel was experiencing very rough weather, and that a man * had been lost overboard. The vessel left Gisborne at 3.30 a.m. yesterday for Waitara, where she expects to arrive at about noon to-moTrow. No particulars were given in the message aa to how the man was lost.
