DR. GEORGE BROWN

Dn Brown, the veteran missionary and President of the Methodist Church of Australasia., preached last evening to a large congregation in Wesley Church, Taranaki-street. For more than half i a century his life has been devoted to mission work in the Pacific Islands, and_ from his own experience he related incidents illustrative of the power of the Gosfjel to change savage peoples into law-abiding citizens and Christians.
