A GALE PREDICTED AND RAIN GENERALLY.
The rainfall since last week's downfall has been confined to a few passing showers in different parts of the Dominion. There is 'still a good possibility, however, that those districts, such as Hawkes Bay and the Wairarapa, where more rain would be acceptable, will yet be satisfied. The forecast by the Meteorological Office is for stormy weather, with rain following generally. The indications are for electrical disturbances in the South and flooded rivers are likely on the West Coast of the South Island. The barometer will probably fall everywhere, and the winds will be northerly, increasing from strong to gale force. Southward of Cook Strait a heavy gale is likely. The conditions during the 'past twenty- four hours have been cloudy, and the weather has become much warmer in the East Coast districts. In the North Island the barometer is still above normal.
