N.S.W. CABINET
A MINISTER RESIGNS PERSONAL- DIFFERENCE WITH THE PREMIER. SYDNEY, sth March. Hon. A. C. Carmichael, Minister for Education, has resigned his portfolio. -There is no question affecting the policy of thn party or the Government involved. The Premier (Mr. Holman) stated that the resignation came as a great surprise. The Cabinet failed to persuade Mr. Carmichael that the situation did not justify hia retirement. Mr. Carmichael states that his resignation is due largely to a matter^ of personal difference with the Premier. The caucus -meets on Tuesday to fill the vacancy. Mr. Holman fills it temporarily. (Received March 6, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Mr. Holman, in an interview, said there had been differences of opinion recently between him and Mr. Carmichael, but only^ on the most trifling matters, and nothing like as serious as other differences which had been surmounted. There was not the slightest difference as regards policy, public finance, party management, administration, or any matter of public concern.
