The Dominion Council of the New Zealand Catholic Federation will meet in the headquarters offices at Wellington on Wednesday morning. The delegates attending will be the Rev. An application for leave to exercise power for sale in a mortgage under tho Mortgages Extension Act was made at the Supreme Court to-day, before his Honour Mr. Justice Hoiking. The plaintiffs were the Wellington Trust and Investment Company, and the defendants Alexander Murray Williams, Mrs. Jane Coe, and Leonard Joseph Zulwood, The owner of the land made default in payment of interest. A prior owner was J Williams, and Zillwood was second mortgagee. Zillwood \va6 prepared to pa> the interest in arrear to save n\<& seci' ity. The Judge made an order that . long as the interest was paid the i»ale «. the land could not proceed. Mr. H. E. Evans appeared for the Wellington Trust and Investment Company, Mr. 0. H. Turnbull for Williams, and Mr. T. Neave for Zillwood. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., Sarah Grant was granted a Bummary separation from her husband, Robert Grant, who was ordered to pay 25s pcl 1 week maintenance and £1 Is solicitor's fees. Andrew Anderson, for failing to obey a maintenance order in favour of his wife, was sentenced to fourteen days in gaol, the warrant to be suspended if 30s is paid weekly. The arrears totalled £15. Miss Beere will reopen her children's classes at her 6tudio. 76, Hill-street, on Saturday next.
