FURNITURE WORKERS
A"fter an extensive organising tour through the North Island, Mr. D. Moriarty, secretary of the Wellington, Furniture Trade Workers' Union, has returned to Wellington. Mr. Moriarty addressed meetings of furniture workers in all the towns he called at, and succeeded in having all non-unionists from Wellington to Napier and from Wellington to New Plymouth enrolled as members of the union. He found the workers entirely in accord with the project to hold a furniture exhibition early next year, the opinion being expressed that such a scheme would be of great value at the present time, when so much of what is known as "packing-case" fur. niture 16 turned out. The terms of the new agreement were explained to the men, Mr. Moriarty pointing out that although _the conditions required improvement iv had been impossible owing to the decision arrived at in regard to Arbitration Court disputes to proceed immediately with the matter.
