FINANCIAL ADVISER TO BE APPOINTED. (Received February 17, 9.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Senator Pearce, Minister for Defence, states that, in view of the fact that the Defence Department is spending a total of £11,000,000 before the end of June, he is appointing a business man to act as financial and commercial adviser to the Department. It has been decided to proceed with the building of military aeroplanes.
