At 9 a.m. to-day the following forceut wa» if sued for the, subsequint 24 hours:— Winds — Moderate to strong easterly, changing by north to westerly, then increasing northward of Kawhla and East Cape ; westerly, strong to gale, elsewhere Barometer— Falling tendency, but unsteady ■ Sea— Very heavy on the west coast of the North Island southward of Cape Egmont, between Castlepoint and Eaikoura, and in Foveaux Strait; considerable northward of Cape Egmont ; rough elsewhere Tides — Good Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at East Cape, Castlepoint, Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Foulwind, and at Stephen Island, Nugget Point, and Centre Island Weather— Unsettled and squally weathpr with rain probable southward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, and scattered showers northwards D.
