(PRESS ASSOCIATION,) GERMAN USE OF COPPER
HUGE YEARLY REQUIREMENTS. (Received February 10, 8.25 a.m.) LONDON, 9th Februaiy. A leading copper authority estimates that Germany uses 309 tons of copper daily in ammunition, and would require to import 72,000 tons yearly to maintain the supply of cartridges and shells. The price of copper in Germany has increased 200 per cent, since the commencement of the war.
