PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
The- Committee of the S.P.C.A. held its fortnightly meeting yesterday afternoon, Mr. V. R. Meredith presiding. There was a fair attendance of members. The Inspector (Captain Henry) reported that he hod' attended to twelve cases of cruelty. Mr. Litchfield, of Picton, wrote asking if there was an agent of the society in Picton, as he would like to see him regarding some disgraceful acts of cruelty which. had come under his notice. The secretary replied that there was no agent in Picton, and .referred the matter to the committee. Contributions to the sum of £10 10s were received, made up ad follows :— Captain Cowan, £2; Mrs. A.
