ABOUT LOCOMOTIVES
SIR JOSEPH WARD AND IMPORTATIONS. During the recent by-election campaign in Dunedin Central Sir Joseph Ward (according to a report in the Opposition Prehs) said that when he became Minister of Railways he inaugurated the policy of building all locomotives locally. The records show that the local-industry policy was projected by Mr. Seddon some years before bir Joseph became Minister of Railways.
