GENERAL CABLES MISHAP TO THE MARAMA
DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £20,000. (By Telegraph —Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received February 9, 8.15 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO. Bth Feb. The suney of the steamer Mara ma. which struck a rock at Half moon Bay on her last voyage from Sydney, disclosed about fifty plates punctured or dented. She was going dead slow at- the time of the mishap and backed into deep water, her double bottom ea-ving her from settling down. It is estimated that the damage done is in the vicinity of £20,000.
