The suney of the steamer Mara ma. which struck a rock at Half moon Bay on her last voyage from Sydney, disclosed about fifty plates punctured or dented. She was going dead slow at- the time of the mishap and backed into deep water, her double bottom ea-ving her from settling down. It is estimated that the damage done is in the vicinity of £20,000.
