MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

Next meeting of the City Council will be asked to receive a _ deputation from the Labour Representation Committee to urge that the proportional representation system be > applied in the coming municipal elections. At a meeting of the Labour Representation* Committee last night it was resolved to nominate eight candidates for the City Council, eight for the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and three ( for the Harbour Board. Affiliated unions will be invited to 6end in nominations by 15th March, and, if necessary, a plebiscite will be taken for the purpose of selecting candidates.
