MAGISTRATE'S COURT
m CASES AT LOWER HUTT. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided at the monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court this morning. Messrs. Cudby, Wilkin, and Peterkin were also on the Bench. "I humbly apologise. I'm very sorry," said Edward Bennett, who pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, and also using obscene language at the Lower Hutt Railway Station. Constable Cameron stated that several people were within hearing at the time, and that the language was particularly obscene. On tjie charge of drunkenness, defendant was convicted and discharged, while for obscene language he was fined £3, in default one month in gaol. Seven days were allowed in which to pay the fine. For allowing stock to wandor at large, Thomas Reesby was fined 10s with costs, 7s on each of two charges, in default serve three days in gaol.
