SAMOA
*— # QUESTION OF CONTROL. "An impression appears to be abroad," said the Right Hon. W. P. Massey to a Post reporter to-day, "that we control Samoa and Samoan affairs. As a matter of fact, Samoa ie under Imperial conti-c-I, and Colone^ Logan, tho Administrator, is an Imperial officer. Instructions are, of course, conveyed to me by the .tin' perial authorities through His Excellency the Governor, but, except in rendering assistance to the Imperial Government when asked to do so, tJie New Zealand Government has really no control over Samoan affairs whatever."
At the first annual meeting of the Hutfc Valley Building Society, Tield last evening, Mr. A. Anderson presided. Thf report and balance-sheet (previously published) were adopted. Messrs. Watson and Leadbeater were elected director*, ■" and Mr. H. Fleet auditor. / '-"*""
