SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON KELBURN TRAMWAY
Mr. C. M. Igglesdeir who resides with his son-in-law, Mr. (j. V. Goulter, at Rawhiti-terrace, Kelburn, had the misfortune to meet with a bad accident this morning. Mr. Igglesden is over 80 years of age, but is still active, and just before 10 o'clock this morning went to the Kelburn terminus of the cable tramway to catch the car for the city. From the accounts of eye-witnesses it would appear that he attempted to cross the line in 1 front of an upcoming car which was within a car's length of the stopping place. He was hit by the front of the car and knocked down, his legs being caught between the car step and the platform. So tightly was he jammed that the car had to be raised with crowbars before he could be extricated. He was removed to his home and attended by Drs. Henry and Pattie. At present he is suffering very severely from shock. His right . knee is badly crushed, one of the bones of his right hand is broken, and he is bruised in others parts of the body.
