We conned the legends and the myths; J > We dehred in esoteric mystery; k We rot as puzzled as the Smiths s Who try to trace their family history. fc We argued about beasts and birds , While Cupid tried to bridge the chasm, We got eostatio over surds, j O'er poetry and protoplasm ! 9 Then somehow I began to dream 1 Of calling her my "more than crony," c Of floating fondly down the stream, a Of moonshine and of matrimony; r But after we had dipped one day v , In lore of gargoyle and of griffin, The maiden slyly stole away, And went and married Mr. Pippin I s —Clinton Scollard.
