NIGHT SCHOOL IN PRISON
Night school has been eetablished in Nebraska's State prison (states tho Chicago News). There 130 inmates gather in the classrooms for instruction m shorthand, typewriting, book-keeping, ajnd all common school branches. A number of mea are taking extension work from the University of Nebraska. They receive no credit for this work unless after release they enter the university aa regular students. Some contemplate doing this. A member of the Statd iJoard said in visiting the school: "The Board of Pardons will take into consideration the time and kind of work done by men who make application for pal'dotie." A sum of about £500 has been provided for the school by the Legislature.
