OBITUARY
LADY SHERBROOKIE. (TIMES AND STBKET BDJJ BBRTICES.) (Received December 10, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 9th December. Lady, Sherbrooke, widow of the late Lord Sherbrooke (better known as the Right Hon. Robert Lowe), is dead. Early in November she received news that her nephew had been killed, and was seized with paralysis, from which she never rallied. (PRBSS ASSOCIATION.) CHARGE OF FORGERY SYDNEY, 9th December. Walter Browning, an accountant recently in the employ of the Lothringer Company, wool-buyers, was charged with forgery. The police gave evidence ' that defendent's forgeries covered a period of three years, and totalled £3647 sterling. Accused was remanded, bail being fixed at £3000. LORD MAYOR OF SYDNEY SYDNEY, 9th December. Alderman Richards has. been re-elected Lord Mayor. DEATH OF A FEDERAL MINISTER MELBOURNE, 9th December. The death is recorded of Mr. J. , Arthur, Federal Minister for External Affairs. ' [Mr. J. Arthur, Minister for External Affairs,' who has been HI since the elections, suffering from heart strain, aggravated by a strenuous campaign at the elections, wa* sworn in as a Minister, but was not able to take his seat in Parliament.]
