SUMMER FLOWERS

»' EXCELLENT DISPLAY AT UPPER HUTT. From every point of view the summer show of the Upper Hutfc Horticultural Society, which was opened yesterday, was an unqualified success, and gavo further evidence of the progress of horticulture in the valley. The display was a 'thoroughly attractive one, a very noticeable feature being the number and quality of blooms and vegetables in the cottage garden class. In the lose division Miss Charles worth was awarded the championship for her specimen of the Mildred Grant. Messrs. T. WaUgh and A. M'Millan had exhibition stands which attracted considerable attention, The show was declared open by Mrs. T. M. Wilford, who congratulated the exhibitors on the display. As secretary, the Rev. J. H. Sykea had arrangements well in hand, and before closing time the Whole of the exhibits wcic sold in aid of tho Belgian Relief Fund.
