MR. FITZGERALD AND THE ALLOCATION OF VOTES.
Mr. J. E. Fitzgerald spoke last night at Miramar, Worser Bay, and Island Bay, and at each place, despite the rough weather, he met with a cordial reception. He dealt at length with the advertisement in that day's Evening Post re the allocation of the votes of the Expeditionary Force. He assured his hearers that one of his relatives and seven members of his committee had joined the Expeditionary Force, and he was certain that these men thought they had recorded their, votes in his favour. lie felt satisfied that the Liberals of the district would recognise his consistency in the cause of Liberalism, and remember that, although he did not bear the hall-mark of Sir Joseph Ward, he was convinced of the justice and' the strength of the cause he advocated. At each of the three places the candidate was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
