SWIMMING

old boys; club. The fourth annual meeting of the Wellington College Old Boys' Amateur Swimming Club was held last evening. Mr. M. Barnett presided over seventeen members. . The annual report and balance-sheet were, adopted- The former stated that the reason for the delay in commencing operations this year is the absence of the secretary at Samoa. Many members of the club had joined tho forces, and the committee, while congratulating them, wished them a safe return. Last season was not quito^ so successful as in previous years, but the same sportsmanlike spirit had been shown. Special stress is laid upon the lack of support given by members to their club and its officials. It was regrettable that the work should be left upon the shoulders of a few. Keener interest is expected in the future, Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow : —President, Mr. J. P. Firth ; vice-presidents, past and present presidents of Old Boys' Association j captain, Mr. E. Levy ; vice-captain, Mr. G. Gray ; secretary, Mr. R. M. Russell ; treasurer, Mr. F. M. H. , Hansen ; starter, Mr. A. Jacobs ; committee, Messrs. N. Isherwood, L. Blundell, G. Robson, W, Hicks, and A. Ronaldson ; delegates to Wellington centre, Messrs. E. Levy and N. Isherwood ; auditor, Mr. D. G. Johnson. Twenty new members were elected.
