' JOLIE FILLE WINS SPRING HANDICAP. (HI TELEGRAPH — PRISS ABSOCIATIO.N.) AUCKLAND, 28th November. The Takapuna Jockey Club concluded its Spring Meeting to-day in fine weather and before a very large attendance. The totalisator recorded £32.485 for the day, making a total of £53,290 for the meeting, as against £46,213 last year. The results are :— ' Vauxiiail Handicap, of 150 boys; seven furlongs.— 3 Mr. F. J. Macmanemin's Hatlj 7.10 (C. Brown) 1; 6, Plenipotent, 7.5, 2; 5 Marble Star. 7.7, 3. Ako 6tarted: 3 Tinoreka 7.9, 1 Glittering Sands 7.5, 11 Golden Petal 7.4, 13 Coloxaine 7.4, 8 Fonuuala 7.3, 12 Troublesome 7.3. 10 St. Lewis 7.3, 15 Gluetanus 7.3, 14 Laverna 7.13, 17 Acid Drop 7.3, 9 Blueform 7.3, 7 Ha warden 7.3. 15 Ulster 7.3, 3 Tamahere 7.3, 16 iSTildah 7.3. Won easily by a length, in the face of a strong and unexpected challenge. Time, Imin 30sec. Spring Handicap, of 350 soys;. one mile.— 6 Mr. J. D. Kemp's Jolie Fille, 7.12, (M'Millan), 1; 8 Patronale, 7.11, 2; 5 Phosphorus, 7.0, 3. Also started. : 1 Monojack 5.9, 2 Goldsize 5.2, 8 lneuru 7.8, 4 Tinopai 7.5,- 9 Ratana 7.0, 10 Kaweeu 6.13, 7 Bedford 6.13, 11 Manette 6.7. Patronale led all the. AYay from a splendid start, closely attended by Phosphoru/5, but in the straight Jolie Fille broke through a close-packed field,- and won 'by half a length. .Time, Imin 42 l-Ssec. R-akino Handicap, of 150 soys; four furlongs (lor two-year-olds).— l Mr. D. Moraghan's Loyal Arch, 8.10 (M'Millan^ 1; 2 Housewife, 7.7, 2; 3 Bisogne, 7.9, 3. Also started : 5 Credo 7.3, 4 Jjightning 7.1.- Won easily all the way by two lengths. Kawau Hurdles, of 175 soys; one mile and three-quarters. — 1 Mr. W. Sharp's SpaJfish, 11.10 (Tutchen), 1 ; 3 Dogger Bank, 9.7, 2; 4 Ruffy, 10.0, 3. The only other starter was Barb Wire. 9.10, who lost his rider. Won easily. Time, 3min 20 2-ssec. Popuke Handicap, of 150 eovb; seven furlongs. — 1 Mr. J. ColHb's Signo, 7.6 (C. Brown), 1; 13 Achilledes, 8.7, 2; 7 Makura, B.oj 3. Albo started : 2 Soldier 9.0, 3 Haku 8.8, 4 Fisher 8.7, 10 <G4enij=pire 8.4, 5 Munster 7.13, 9 Christine 7.10, 12 Nimrod 7.0, 11 Troublesome 7.0, 6 Lady Penury 7.0. The favourite got command early, and was never seriously troubled. Won by a length. Time, Imin 30' sec. Welter Handicap, of 175 soys; one mile. — 2 Mr. Hayr's Monorail, 7.12 (M'Millan), 1; 5 Tripoli, 8.1, 2; 7 Devastation, 7.7, 3. Also started : 6 Etectrakoff 9.7, 3 Phosphorus 8.12, 1 Gloy 8.8, 4 Worcester 8.7, 9 Kaween 8.4 8 Ovation 7.8, 11 Takinini 7.7. 10 Flying Soult 7.7, 7 Devastation. Devastation led for most of the distance, but at the turn Monorail got command, and won by three lengths. Two lengths separated second and third. Time, Imin i 43scc. ' _ !
