ON THE RUSSIAN SIDE
BATTERY OF ARTILLERY CAPTURED THREE THOUSAND AUSTRIANS TAKEN. (Received November 21, 1.30 p.m.) PETROGRAD, 20th November. A communique states : "The Germans attempted to break our line on the "fistula and the Warta. Our offensive was partially successful. We captured, northwest of Lodz, a battery of heavy artillery, ten machine guns, and made hundreds of prisoners. "Stubborn actions on the Czensto-chowa-Cracow line are developing normally. "We captured throe thousand Austriana on Tuesday, and also occupied Wisnicz, Gorlicc, and Dukla."
