MODERATE LEAGUE

A meeting to further the objects of the New Zealand Moderate Longue is being held at Petone to-night, the Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan), presiding. Members of the Central Executive will explain the league's programme, and residents will be asked to nominate a local committee to look after the league's interests in Petone. On tho 27th instant tho first Dominion Conference of representatives of the branches of tho league will be held at Wellington, when all branches will bo roprosented. Numerous remits have been received, and important announcements regarding tho league's programme at tho coming- elections and the future activities will afterwards be made.
