SIR JOSEPH WARD
AN ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION. (IT TBUSBAFH— PR»S« ASIOCUTION.) INVERCARGILL, 18th Nov. Sir Joseph Ward addressed a crowded meeting of about ' 600 people at Waikiwi, a suburb, to-night, and was accorded an enthusiastic reception. His speech was on much the same lines as those delivered at Winton and Bluff. The chair was occupied by Mr. W. A. Morris, a former opponent. At the conclusion of the meeting the folldwing motion was carried : — "That this meeting thanks Sir Joseph Ward for his able address, expresses confidence in him as Leader of the Liberal Party, congratu r lates him on the patriotic stand he took in Parliament by dropping party differences during the height of the crisis, and sincerely hopes that he will not only be returned as our member once more, but that as a result of the election he will be once again placed at the head of the Government."
