MANAWATU SHOW

The Manawatu Metropolitan Show opens on next at Palmerston North. Entries are well forward, though naturally not, under the circumstances of war time, up to the_ mark of last year in numbers. Tho quality is, however, there. The show will maintain its representative character in showing tho pick of. the horses, cattle, sheep, and pigs of the year. Their Excellencies the Earl and Countees of Liverpool are arranging to visit the show on, the third day (People's Day). Given fine weather the show should be well up to the standard of previous years.

Tho Crovdoii School sporte, originally fixed for Thursday noxt, will not bo held until the end of tho term.
