ADVANCED PRICE ASKED FOR SUGAR
SYDNEY, 30th October. The Queensland Sugar Millers' As- , aociation has requested the Commodities Commission to advance the price of refined sugar, stating that an advance in the wholesale price will not affect the general consumer, because the retail price was not altered when the reduction to the ruling prices was made. The Fiirymead Company supported the application. Hordern'a representative stated that the increase of 25s asked for would mean an advance of a farthing a pound to the small consumers.
